The oldest Bishop specimen was collected in 1969 by Wirawan, N. (Hambantota, Ruhuna NP, Block I, Patanagala, plot R10, Padikema Rock). The Museum last collected it in 1975; iNaturalist observers have seen it in the wild as recently as October 4, 2026.
