The oldest Bishop specimen was collected in 1931 by Thomas A. & Beatrice Burch (Australia; Bass Strait; Furneaux Group; Flinder Island, off). The Museum last collected it in 1964; iNaturalist observers have seen it in the wild as recently as 2026.
