Two centuries of collecting
The oldest Bishop specimen was collected in 1973 by Sohmer, S.H.; Jayasuriya, M.; Eliezer, K. (Nuwara Eliya, Pidurutalagala FR, 0.5 mi. from beginning to trail of Occurrence). The Museum last collected it in 1993; iNaturalist observers have seen it in the wild as recently as September 19, 2026.
