The oldest Bishop specimen was collected in 1900 by Freherr; Spiessen; Kneucker, A. (Ingelheimer Heide in Rheinhessen unter Kiefern). The Museum last collected it in 1974; iNaturalist observers have seen it in the wild as recently as October 17, 2026.
