The oldest Bishop specimen was collected in 1963 by Fosberg, F.R. (Sabah: Mt. Kinabalu, ridge above Kamburongoh). The Museum last collected it in 1973; iNaturalist observers have seen it in the wild as recently as July 1, 2025.
