The oldest Bishop specimen was collected in 1945 by Camp, W.H. (Ecuador: Near junction of rios Pailas and Negro. Prov. Santiago-Zamora ("Oriente"): Eastern slopes of the cordillera, valley of the rio Negro, down to the rio Pailas (On the trail toMendez)).
